It worked for me and saved me a lot of headaches.MiniTool Software Ltd. Check my other reviews in my profile to see I don't give false reviews.īelieve me, if I knew this would have worked this well I would have gladly paid a reasonable amount for the tool. I'll finish this by saying this is not a paid or fake review (as I was worried some of them were) and I don't know if it'll fix everyone's problems but it fixed mine and was painless. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that this really was this fast and easy but apparently it was. I rebooted my pc a couple of times just to make sure it wouldn't suddenly fall over and still, all was well. I then decided it must have hosed my recovery partitions so I boot into recovery mode (sure it wouldn't work now) and it worked just fine. I popped into Windows Disk Management and viewed the partitions and sure enough, Windows showed the C: drive was now using all of the new free space. In about 5 seconds flat it said it was done.īeing an IT professional, I immediately thought it couldn't possibly have been that easy or that fast and not even require a reboot. I clicked "Extend partition" and it asked me how much of the free space I wanted to add. I just right clicked on the C: drive and the option to extend the drive was right there (even though in Windows that option was grayed out). It turns out that with this software I didn't have to move anything. ![]() When I didn't see a modern version I decided to give minitool here a try. I actually came to Amazon looking for Partition Magic which is an old utility that worked well. I knew I needed to move those recovery partitions out of the way but most of my googling said it wouldn't be easy. The problem I ended up with was that the C: partition was stuck at the old small size and Windows couldn't extend it into the extra space on the new SSD drive because there were two recovery partitions between the C: partition and the free space.Ī quick google search told me this would be a headache. I used a disk cloning program to move everything from the old one to the new one. I just bought a larger SSD hard drive to replace my c: drive that was running out of space after I upgraded to Windows 10. I was as skeptical as anyone could be knowing that most "freeware" is useless and does nothing but tell you any useful feature will only work if you pay for it.
